Eagle Swimmers Soar over Mid-Carolina and Newberry!

Chapin Swimming soared with a double victory against Newberry and Mid Carolina High Schools.  The Eagle Claws owned the pool with a 245 to 95 victory over Mid- Carolina and a 239 to 92 victory over Newberry. Team spirit ruled with outstanding swims from Catherine Bendziewicz in the 200 IM and 100 Fly, Denise Shealy in the 200 and 400 Free and Will Tenbrusel in the 50 Free and 100 Back.

Other big winners for Chapin were Warren Coppage in the 200 IM, Emily Gleaton in the 100 Breast, Alexa Ussery in the 50 Free, Rachel Rutkowski in the 100 Back, and Grant Tomlin in the 200 Free.

Lady Eagle relay teams scored big  with  swimmers  Catherine Bendziewicz, Emily Gleaton, Denise Shealy and Alexa Ussery  winning  both the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay.  Cindy Spence, Kaitlyn Spence, Jenna Sullivan and Rachel Rutkowski also earned the top spot with a victory in the 200 Free Relay.

The Eagle Men also soared claiming 2 out of 3 relay team victories. Will Tenbrusel, Warren Coppage, Chris Gleaton, and Alex Dixon led the way in the 400 Free Relay.  David Dunkelberg, Wesley Moore, Jarred Kemmerling and Jack Tenbrusel earned the top spot in the 200 Free Men’s Relay.

The Chapin Eagle Swimmers were led to victory by Coach Peggy Mueller and Coach Dana Catoe.  The next meet is September 10 against AC Flora.
