Dear Madame Eagle,
School has only just started and I already feel like I am swamped in work, from studying for tests to writing papers and reading assignments. I am also involved in sports and clubs. If I am already feeling like this after only a month of school, I don’t know how I will be able to keep up the entire school year. I want to be able to give 100% in all my work, but that doesn’t seem possible unless I cut out sleep.
Sincerely,
Stressed Out Student
Dear Stressed Out Student,
There are many ways to effectively manage your time and there is no reason to get too overwhelmed by schoolwork. The beginning of the school year is hard because you are just getting to know your teacher and the type and amount of homework they give, but once you get to know them it will get easier. For example if you know you have vocab due every three weeks, then you should do it in advance so you wont have to freak out the night before. You can also use spare time like the fifteen minutes of silent reading in third block to read or work on homework instead of talking or goofing off. If you plan ahead, you can avoid the stress.
Sincerely,
Madame Eagle
