Chapin High School’s spring break starts on April 14th and lasts until April 18th. This is later in the year than usual, and lines up with Easter. This year Easter is April 20th. Every year students and staff travel during break, where are our eagles travelling this year, and how do they feel about the timing?
Piper Russel(10th) said, “I’m going to Michigan.” Last year Piper went to Florida. She also said “I’m most looking forward to hanging out with my friends.”
Rylie Hinken (11th) says, “I may be going to the beach with some of my friends,” Last year Rylie took a cruise to the Caribbean. “I’m looking forward to not having to be in school.”
Nikolai Sogaard (10th) says, “I’m going to England for soccer, we’re leaving Saturday and getting there Sunday morning. We’ll be scrimmaging, training, and doing some aquatic therapy. We will also be exploring London.”
How do Eagles feel about the late start to break this year?
Typically spring break begins early in the month of April or in late March, although this year Spring break begins on April 14th, significantly later than last year’s break which began on March 29th and ended April 5th.
Deja Rutherford said, “I feel drained, I wish spring break was last week.”
While some students thought that it was nice to have spring break earlier, many students agreed that they were fine with it being later, because the weather is warmer.
It seems that this year, students and staff are traveling to coastal regions up and down the Carolinas. While some people are travelling out of state, and some to other countries, the majority of people are staying within the borders of the south.
With a temperature outlook of high 80’s throughout the month of April, students can expect warm sunny weather in South Carolina making this spring break one of the best.
