On Friday, April 11, 2025, Chapin High School commemorated the class of 2025 at the annual “Decision Day.” Decision Day allows seniors to come together to celebrate the success of their senior year and announce their future plans. This does not just include collegiate students but also students joining the military or the workforce.
During Decision Day, seniors picked up their graduation supplies, including stoles, cords, yard signs, and goodies from their upcoming university. Chapin High also provided lunch this year, which was Chick-fil-A. For fun activities, there was a photo booth, yard Jenga, chess, spike ball, and a student-led “senior signout”.
Seniors who attended the event had nothing but positive things to say. Senior Makenzy Rushton, attending Lander University for nursing, says decision day was “a great way to support my peers on their next steps” and also “make lasting memories with my best friends.”
Lilly Howard, attending Clemson University for business, says that it allowed her to “take a break from stressing about the future” and also made her realize that she “won’t be around my best friends every day.”
Allie Bickley, attending Lander University for Nursing, stated, “Overall, it was a good experience,” but she thinks she “would’ve enjoyed it more if it was outside.” Overall, the class of 2025 believes this experience was a positive way to begin our final month at Chapin High School.
As we close this chapter in our lives, we experience bittersweet nostalgia reflecting on our years together. Decision Day is a beautiful tradition that allows us to spend one of our final moments together, taking a final glimpse into each other’s future. I wish the rest of my fellow seniors good luck with their futures. I have been grateful to grow and learn beside all of you!
