Top 5 Christmas Movies by Annabelle Heape
- Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
If you’ve never watched the classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, I highly recommend it as it has adventure and excitement throughout the film and interesting characters from the North Pole, Misfit Island.
- Elf
Elf is a must-see starring Will Ferrell, Peter Dinklage, Jon Favreau, and many more amazing actors, and the overall plot of the movie leaves a warm feeling with those who watch it.
- A Christmas Story
A Christmas Story, starring Peter Billingsley as Ralphie, is a great movie about a kid wanting a certain Christmas gift, funny family moments, and other amazing scenes.
- Home Alone
Home Alone one and two are absolute musts during the holidays, with a kid defending himself from the same robbers. In the first one, he’s defending himself at home as his family left him on vacation, and in the second one, he’s hiding out in New York, having gotten on the wrong plane, and fighting off the same robbers who planned to rob a toy store. It’s a heart warming movie and an absolute must see
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas
If you’ve only watched the newer animated Grinch with Benedict Cumberbatch or the live-action Grinch starring Jim Carrey, I highly recommend watching the old animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas as it follows Dr. Seuss original story and art style with the hear warming tale of how the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes bigger.
Top 4 Movie Adaptations of books by Payton Huyck

Pride and Prejudice (2005):
In my opinion, the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice is better than the 1995 version because of the difference in cinematography and casting. I think that Matthew Macfadyen is a much better Mr.Darcy than Colin Firth because he captures the change in attitude of Mr.Darcy throughout the movie. The director of the 2005 version, Joe Wright, conveys the chaos that is sisterhood and romance in the same way as the book.
Little Women (2019):
I love the 2019 version of Little Women. The flashbacks helped viewers understand the emotions that Jo was experiencing. My favorite decision that Greta Gerwig made was how the sisters interacted. I read the book first and watched the movie after, and the entire time watching, I was thinking that this is exactly how I imagined it.
The Hunger Games:
I always go back to The Hunger Games. While the movies may have missed some details that only came out with the later books, they are some of my favorite movies. I think that the casting was amazing because Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson had great chemistry. These movies will continue to be great if Suzanne Collins continues to be a part of the production for the films.
Harry Potter:
Harry Potter still holds a place at the top of the list, even being twenty years old. The casting was great, and they stayed very close to the descriptions in the books. They didn’t change key points like most popular movies, which made the movies enjoyable for people who read the books and those who didn’t.
