New head football coach, Coach Cole was introduced to Chapin High School this year. Coach Cole has previous experience in physical education.
Coach Cole grew up and went to college in New Hampshire and according to Coach Cole, sports have always been a major part of his childhood. During his educational career, he studied physical education, taking inspiration from his father who was also a PE coach.
Prior to coming to Chapin High, Coach Cole’s 27 year experience includes teaching at Springhill High, Chapin Middle School, Dutch Fork Middle School, and Swansea High School.
Coach Cole said that Chapin’s school pride sets it apart from other schools he has worked at. “I think a lot of schools I have been to have had school pride but I think Chapin kids take a lot of pride in their school and there’s a lot of different things, and the sports program is good and the support for athletics is great,” he said.
Coach Cole has sought to be head football coach at Chapin High and his application was approved earlier this year.
Coach Cole emphasized how grateful he is to have such an amazing job at Chapin with our student body and football players.
This year the Chapin Eagles have had a record of 6 and 5 and recently beat Goose Creek High in the first round of playoffs. The Eagles played Irmo High on November 22 for the second round of the playoffs.
