Volleyball-
The Volleyball team had a record of 17-8-1 this spring. They have defeated many teams that they have not in the past.
The team has had major bumps throughout the season, including 2 of their senior all around players attaining season ending injuries. This impacted their season greatly, and a Junior Varsity player was pulled up to fill the setter position as a result. The girls still played well despite the challenges, but it was difficult for most of the players to fill that leadership role on the court.
Overall, the Volleyball team had the best record this season that they have had in quite a while, and they will be losing 3 seniors, all of which have been an asset to the Varsity team since the 8th grade.–Dani Mejia and Harrison White
Football-
The Chapin High School Varsity Football team has had a good season so far with a record of 6-5.
Last week, the team had a great win against a close rival, River Bluff. The team was officially on their way to the first round of 5A playoffs, where they will played at Stratford High School in North Charleston. The Eagles fell to Stratford with a score of 27 to 28. –Reagan Cooke
Cross Country–
The 2023 Chapin High School Cross Country Team, coached by Ryan Plexico, Ashley Holman, and Natalie Sammis, had a very successful season this year.
The boys finished 3rd in 5A and won the region while the girls finished 4th in 5A and were the region runner ups.
There were also a few records broken this year as freshman Koa Erickson set a new mark for the Chapin freshman boys record and senior Abigail White improved her overall school record time.
