New Restaurants Open in Chapin
Two years ago, Publix opened in Chapin. The grocery store was built on a lot large enough to build outbuildings, such as restaurants or stores. Koi Japanese restaurant and Anytime Fitness soon opened up next to Publix. More recently, students driving through Chapin could see a new set of buildings being built near China Wok 3 on Chapin Road in an area in front of the Publix grocery store.
Verizon, Jersey Mike’s, Palmetto Rehabilitation, and Marco’s Pizza have all recently opened up or are opening up in the coming months. Last week, in the cafeteria, coupons for Jersey Mike’s that promised a discounted sub in exchange for a $2 donation were given out during lunch.
The location of the new stores make it the perfect place for CATE center students to stop by as they come back from the Center. If you look around the cafeteria or the arena lobby, it’s easy to see a student with a Jersey Mike’s bag.
“I like everything, especially the hot subs,” said senior Joseph Mullen about Jersey Mike’s. “They are made fresh and are really delicious.”
“It’s good,” said senior Madelyn Crews about Jersey Mike’s. “They have fast service and know what they are doing.”
“If Marco’s has good pizza, I’m excited,” said junior Graycen Bozard. “I think it’s going to be good for Chapin to have a few more restaurants.”
These new stores and restaurants are evidence that Chapin is continuing to grow.
