Cappin off an undefeated regular season, the Chapin Eagles Rugby Club defeated Greenville’s Red Raider Rugby Club 10-0 to win the SC High School State Championship title. After this spectacular defeat, the Chapin Eagles Rugby team headed to Sanford Florida to represent South Carolina in the USA South Regionals competition. The team finished third overall with a tournament record of 2-1.
“When we won the championship, it felt like we were riding unicorns on rainbows over purple meadows. It was that awesome,” stated sophmore Nick Richards, whose dad was a coach of the team.
