Chapin v. Dreher Football Preview
Chapin faces Dreher in a key region match-up.
The Chapin Eagles (7-0, 2-0) and the Dreher Blue Devils (5-2, 2-0) face off in week 3 of region play. Entering friday night’s game, both teams are tied for first in the region. This game has all the elements on paper to be a great one.
Chapin is aware of the huge implications this game can have on the season, but junior outside linebacker, Jacob Wright, says “I really don’t think we need to change much since we have been having success with what we are doing right now. We know how big the game is so we just going to have a different mind set the whole week through.”
With this game being as huge as it is for the Chapin team, they will need huge performances from their leaders leaders on both sides of the ball. The defense will need to continue the impact they have had so far this season.
The Chapin team has relied on the ability of their great defense all year. They on average allow their opponents 19.3 points per game so far this season. This is impressive since Chapin’s offense puts them on the field
Senior captain, Garrett Reinhart, talked about what the defense was doing to prepare “Dreher runs a couple of offenses… so we have to change our defense in order to account for the multiple running backs they have in the game at each time.”
With Chapin’s great performances so far in the season, they will look to continue that in a much bigger game. Both players and coach are ready to for the challenge. This game should be a great one to be at if it lives up to the expectations.
