Beta Club Shamrocks
Throughout the month of March, Chapin High School’s Beta Club will be having their annual Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraiser by selling paper shamrocks. The Muscular Dystrophy Association provides week long camps during the summer for children with neuromuscular disease. It costs $800 to send one camper, which is what the shamrock sales go towards. Each shamrock is $1, and Beta students earn service hours for every ten that they sell. The shamrocks are then posted in the cafeteria with the buyers’ names on them. According to Mrs. Morgan, Chapin’s Beta Club sponsor, “we normally make in the $300 range.” Though this isn’t very close to the $800 camper fee, every contribution helps. Shamrock sales end March 31, so students are encouraged to do their part and purchase one today.
