Chapin Sports Dominate Mega Monday
May 9th, Mega Monday, marked the date for three huge playoff sporting events hosted at Chapin High School. The Eagles hosted a first round upper state championship softball match, an upper state championship girls soccer game, and a third round boys tennis playoff match. The Eagles won all three games.
The Chapin softball team defeated Lancaster 6-1 to advance to the winner’s bracket of the upper state championship tournament. On Wednesday, May 11th they will play Union County, who defeated the Lady Eagles’ earlier in the season by a score of 11-2.
The Chapin girls soccer team hosted in-region rival, AC Flora, in the upper state championship match. Chapin defeated the Flora 2-0 to advance to the 3A state championship game. The game will be held Saturday, May 14th, at 11:30 A.M at Irmo High School. Chapin will play against Hilton Head High School.
Chapin boys tennis team hosted another in-region rival, Dreher, in the third round of the playoffs. The Eagles won 4-2 in the match-up to advance to play AC Flora in the upper state championship.
