On October 11th, the girls golf team traveled to Timberland Country Club to compete against A.C. Flora High to compete for the region championship. They came out victorious and will now advance to state.
“ I think it’s awesome that our team is so young, and we are doing so well. We have a great future for girls golf,” said Coach Honea.
The team has young members with only one senior. The team has a promising future with expectations of future competition for state.
Competing team members were Hannah Boyle, Abigail Starnes, Darragh James and Carolina Jenkins. Also with assistant coach Gregory Hamm and head coach Kent Honea.
Coach Honea took his coach of the year award very modestly. “ I didn’t really do anything, our team just won all region”.
Emily Baker and Darragh James also won all region team.
The team goes to state The 24th and 25th of October. They have a regular season record of 9-1 going into state.

Way to stretch out and cover a lesser-known sport like girls golf! Some small editing needs to be done still, like un-capitalizing “the” in the middle of a sentence, but otherwise a good article Luke! I would love to see some more info too like where the country club was.
