A Wounded Warrior’s New Home
The Homes for Our Troops organization has built a special home in Chapin, SC for Sergeant Robert Barber. This house will accommodate Sergeant Barber’s physical disabilities, and will be presented to the Barber family on February 18.
The National Guard Sergeant served in Afghanistan, but was wounded and medically retired in 2012. His sustaining injuries left him without a right leg and an immobile left leg.
Sergeant Barber’s new home will feature wide doorways, a wheel-chair accessible shower and low kitchen counters. These changes, along with almost forty others, will help ease his life.
Nothing will compensate for the dedication and loss that Sergeant Barber gave to this country. Hopefully though, the Home for Our Troops house will help this injured veteran perform daily activities more easily.
