Parking Pass Problems
As the year comes to an end, underclassmen as well as rising upperclassmen have to ensure that they have a parking spot next year. Parking registration began the week of May 7th, and continues into the week of May 14th in the small hallway near the “seal” during Power Hour.
In order to park on campus next school year, they have to make sure they meet all the new requirements set in place. The requirements for receiving a parking pass have been tightened this year, as students are now required to get a teacher approval form signed. The teachers signatures guarantee that all work for that course is turned in and up to date.
However, there is some controversy as the requirements for obtaining a pass this year are much more strict as opposed to last year. This year, student’s with late work will not be eligible to receive a pass where this was not an issue last year.
When asked about the new requirement, junior, Bryce Myers responded by saying, “I don’t like the new requirement because it seems like it is more work for everyone involved.” Whereas Noah Brandon, a junior, said, “I think it is unnecessary.”
Other requirements to get a pass include clearing ALL debt from the school (cafeteria, library, and ID), filling out the registration form, and taking Alive @ 25 as well as paying a $50.00 fee.
Those receiving passes should be aware of some etiquette. Parking etiquette includes parking in the correct parking spot with parking pass, being consciences of other cars and drivers, driving the correct speed limit, and playing no loud music.
