Students at Chapin High got a chance to share their memories of Zestos once they heard the well-known eatery was closing its doors on Friday May 3rd. Students liked the fact that the menu was affordable.
“Price-wise it was pretty good. I had a few friends who worked there,” said Preston Dudley.
Senior Reed Williams said he will miss ”The double bacon cheeseburger. And the chocolate fudge dipped ice-cream with sprinkles.”
It seemed that most students had a favorite food item. “I remember the creamy chocolate shakes and how filling they always were,” said sophomore Willow Zeck. “I loved going there with my friends when we were little and getting their dipped ice cream cones,” said Elise Merrick
Senior Maxton Lambert said his “go to” was the cheeseburger basket with chili. “If I was feeling a dessert I would always get a cone dipped in butterscotch.” Lambert added, “I will miss it because Chapin doesn’t have enough food spots. It was always a go-to-spot when people wanted to hang out.
For some students it was a chance to be with their family or the place to eat after sporting events. “I remember going there after my rec football games growing up with all my teammates and friends. They had the best burgers and ice cream,” said Kai Fennell. “I loved going on the weekends with my grandparents to get our favorite classics,” said senior Cora Diimmler.
