Chapin’s Chamber Choir Visits The Big Apple
The Chapin High School Chamber Choir had the experience of a life time in New York City on Valentine’s Day weekend. They were in the Big Apple from Friday, February 12th through Monday, the 15th.
While in New York the choir sang at St. John’s Cathedral as well as in unique places such as underground in the Subway and in the streets. “We sang the songs ‘Mansion’s of the Lord’, ‘Say Something’, and ‘Ave Maria'” said Baylor Manley, a four year choir student, “My favorite was ‘Ave Maria’ because to me it felt like the most powerful of the three.”
Chapin’s Chamber Choir also enjoyed the tourist part of The Big Apple. “We saw the Statue of Liberty; went to the Rockefeller Building and the Radio City Music Hall. We also went to Times Square,” said Jasper Aiken, first year Chamber Choir student. Aiken also said his favorite part of the trip was going to the see School of Rock on Broadway.
