March 14th is National Pi Day, a day where the nation gets together to celebrate math.
Schools all over the world celebrate math in a fun and exciting way and Chapin High School is no exception. Our math teachers have taught hundreds of students the principles of math and Pi is no doubt one of them.
Mrs. Korsah, who is one of our beloved Math teachers, said that she loves Pi day because, “We all wear the same shirts and pi is my favorite word.” Korsah also added, “I also like it because it’s always the day before pay day.” When asked whether they actually eat pie on Pi day, she confirmed that Mrs. Young, another math teacher, has her husband bring pie in for all the math teachers. According to Mrs. Korsah, her favorite kind of pie is “Hot apple pie with Vanilla ice cream.”
Pi day is a fun way for us to celebrate math and all it does to us. The world itself runs on math and we have our teachers to thank for teaching us these principles.
