Chapin Girls Volleyball Season Update

Chapin Volleyball looks to continue their winning ways.

The Lady Eagles volleyball team has started the season with two wins. They look to continue their form throughout the rest of the season. The girls have big expectations and look forward to the challenge.

The Lady Eagles started the season with a comeback 5 set win over Dutch Fork High School, then followed up with comfortable 3 set sweep over Airport High School. Since then they took a loss to River Bluff in 4 sets, but still look to be very competitive as the season continues.

When freshman, Rachel Martini, was asked about her team’s performances so far, she responded, stating “I think we have been doing really good, and we’ve been working together. We have been trying really hard and coming together as a team.”

It is obvious that this team has a lot of team spirit and work ethic, but the focus is that they are able to translate that intensity onto the court. The team did lose some play-makers from last year, but is as competitive as ever and hungry for wins.

“We have a very bright future. We have really good skills and technique and that comes in handy a lot” said senior, Megan Jefferson, about her expectations on the year.

The expectations are high for this group of ladies, and if they are able to focus on their technique and abilities they believe it can be a good year for the lady eagles.

On any team leadership is important, and this team looks to Katherine Hughes and Steffy Johnson to supply them in that aspect of the game.

This year will be a challenge for the lady eagles, but with focus, technique, and leadership they look to continue their winning ways.
