Summer Activities

If you don’t have any major summer plans, like me, then you’ll be sitting around your house dying of boredom. So trying to prevent that I have made a list for the few of you actually reading this, here we go!

Things you have to pay to do:

See a drive in movie, just like at the theaters, but in the comfort of your own car.

Go play mini-golf with a few friends, fun and easy friendly competition.

Take a day and go to Carowinds because, why not?

Rent a hotel room at the beach and stay for a weekend with some friends.

Go to a concert, but you have to find one first….

Fun free things:

Camp in your yard, then realize it’s a bad idea and go back inside at 2 in the morning.

Go to a park and have a picnic, complete with a checkered blanket.

Have a bonfire, roast marshmallows…. Yum.

Try cooking something new, burn cookies with a friend.

Take a nap, who doesn’t love sleeping?

Lie in the grass and make shapes out of clouds on a lazy day.

Stargaze, even without a telescope.

Go swimming.

Hike somewhere.

Try playing a sport, if you’re athletic.

Read a book.

Listen to music.

Play a board game, preferably with someone else.

Get a group of people together and play capture the flag, or another game.

When asking students what activities they like to do, sophomore Jordan Streett said “My friends and I usually have multiple night sleepovers going from one house to another.” Sophomore Anna Polson said “I go hiking when it’s cool enough outside.” Sophomore Jordan Bridges said “The most interesting thing I do over the summer is go on a hot air balloon ride.”

Maybe something here will save you from wishing you had school again… maybe.
