Men’s Wrestling Recap
Chapin Men’s wrestling finished its eventful season by making it to their second consecutive state championship, before falling short to East Side. The team finished second overall.
Cole Haile still managed to win his match and claimed a state championship. Sean Haile and Kyle Nichols also emerged victorious.
Senior Cole Haile remained grateful for his team’s performance, “It was really fast, faster than I thought it was. It was awesome though, definitely the best season so far. We also have a great group returning for us.”
Three students also advanced to the individual tournament. Cole Haile placed first, continuing his undefeated season, 57-0. Also placing were Sean Haile and Josh Green who finished third.
The team looks to return to its strong position next year, despite graduating several seniors. Some of the upperclassmen are confident they can make a strong run against in the 18-19 season.
Luke Layton is a Senior at Chapin High School. He writes mostly sports stories, and enjoys interviewing. Luke plays varsity tennis for Chapin.
