New Track Season in 5A

Every school year after the students get back from winter break, many kids head out to the track field for conditioning. Chapin High has been good in recent history, winning the region last season, but if you ask all the other sports teams at Chapin, 5A is a different ball game and it will be interesting to see how the track team stacks up to new competition.

Taison Thomas, a senior, said, “we have a lot of returning sprinters and a lot of new faces that could potentially help us with region. (It) should be a fun season.”

“I’m excited because we won the region last year and I’m excited to see what this team can do,” said Adam Bedenbaugh, a junior. He is also very excited to see what the new faces can do.

Junior newcomer Jordan Thomas said, “It’s my first year at Chapin and I’m excited to see what the region brings.” Jordan was at Irmo High School prior to this year, and knows what it is like to run against 5A talent. He will look to bring some experience to the young runners.
