Chapin Wrestling Team Lower State Champions
Wednesday night Chapin Wrestling went up against Cane Bay High School. After almost two hours of matches the Chapin High School wrestlers won with a score of 37 to 28. The Chapin win clinched the Lower State title. The team also holds the Region 5 Championship. For the second year in a row Chapin will wrestle at State finals. The matches will be held Saturday February 10th at Airport High School.
“It was good, not as hard as some of the other matches,” said Josh Taylor, a sophomore in the heavyweight division. Now Chapin is going back to the State Championship for the second year in a row. The team will be travelling to Airport High School on Saturday
“I feel like we get better every practice,” said Cole Hodges, when asked how he feels the team has improved over the season. Hodges also said the team “usually we get our weight down by running and watching what we eat and drink.”
