Chapin’s baseball team may be waiting to play a state play-off game, but Cater Unger has sailed into Chapin’s record books by bringing home a state title in Pole Vaulting.  Unger won first place in the state at the state Track and Field competition held at Spring Valley High School on May 11.  Unger cleared 11 feet in the pole vault, which earned her first in the state.

“I’ve been trying to do lower ‘four-peat’ champion for four years now,” said Unger. She has been jumping since her freshman year of high school and she was a top finisher at her school prior to moving to Chapin. Unger has been jumping since her freshman year in high school.

Chapin’s Baseball team will compete on Wednesday May 16 for a state title. The game was delayed from Tuesday May 15, due to rain.
