One of the most famous acapella bands, Pentatonix, played in South Carolina recently. Pentatonix performed on November 30th at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia South Carolina.
Pentatonix is a very popular acapella group with over 20 million loving fans.
Acapella is a type of music that only uses vocals and does not include any instruments. The group has won a Grammy Award, two Youtube Music Awards and a Shorty Award.
Their performance in Columbia was Christmas themed and they sang multiple songs including: Mary Did You Know, Jingle Bells and Your A Mean One Mr. Grinch. Nearly 10,000 people attended the concert and packed the arena. Not only was the performance a music concert, but it also had a vibrant light show!
The band members, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kristin Maldondo, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee, also encouraged the audience to participate. They asked the audience to sing, dance, and even sing in a TikTok! This TikTok can be seen on the Pentatonix Instagram page (@ptxofficial).
