New changes to student loans

Working two jobs and trying to balance college is going to be easier now, with the new changes to student loans. “I’m going to be working as much as possible in college because I have to pay for it myself, so I need all the help I can get,” junior Jaclyn Bidinger says.

This new reform is called the Student Aid and Fiscal responsibility Act. This act is going to help more students pay for school and get more money in return than they already are.  “This will help me tremendously, I’m already going to be working really hard trying to balance everything so this new reform is awesome,” says senior Grace Powlas.

More Pell grants will be distributed from this new reform. Currently many students get their loans from private lenders like Citibank. The new loan is going to force students to get these loans through the federal government instead.  This will help the government but end up hurting the private lenders. The federal deficit should decrease by 19 million, which is great for America. The existing deficit is in the trillions. “I think this will help America, it will be great for all the students and everyone has a better chance of getting their education,” junior Jake Priddy says.

“To succeed in the future education is key, it’s the most important thing in life and this new reform is going to give many people new opportunities,” says junior Maggie Stroud.
