Students fromChapinHigh Schoolhave decorated rain barrels to be judged and auctioned off in the Clemson-Carolina Rain Barrel Contest. This is a project to encourage homeowners to use rain barrels and decrease the nonpoint source runoff in neighborhoods.This is a project to encourage homeowners to use rain barrels and decrease nonpoint source runoff in neighborhoods. The winning schools will receive three hundred dollars. The Gamecock barrel was decorated by Jordan Clifton and the Clemson barrel was decorated by Lea Ward and Adam Sloan.
“These students did a wonderful job!” said science teacher Lisa Ruth
Two winners will be selected, one for the highest bid and one as judge’s choice. The barrels will be featured on the Keep the Midlands Beautiful website from November 19-27.
