Chapin v. Swansea Football Preview

Chapin and Swansea square off Friday @ 7:30 in Cecil Woolbright Stadium.

This week the Eagles (2-0) face off against the Swansea Tigers (0-1) in a highly anticipated week 3 matchup. Chapin is coming off a 44-7 drumming of rival Mid Carolina last week. The Eagles are on fire as of late, having scored 93 points the last two weeks and only giving up 7. Offensively the Eagles have the Midlands top scorer leading the way in QB Logan Bailey. Bailey is surrounded by three of the top fifteen WRs in receiving yards with Evan Estridge, Will Register, and Kale Rhame. Defensively the Eagles are coming off strong games by DLs Khari Suber and Brennan Zeigler who combined for 5 sacks against MC. Suber leads the Midlands with 3 sacks and Zeigler follows closely behind him with 2. Junior DB Chandler Johnson has been a ball hawk the last two weeks for the Eagles registering 2 INTs, which also leads the Midlands, in limited playing time.

Swansea is coming off an opening week 34-24 loss to fellow Chapin rival A.C. Flora. The Tiger are led by Dual Threat QB Chance Walker who rushed for 211 yards and threw for 79 yards against Flora. The Tigers defense took a hit this year after leader and UNC commit LB Jonathan Sutton graduated. Swansea trails Chapin all time with Chapin holding a 24-18 advantage over the Tigers. The Tigers are looking to avenge a 34-20 loss to Chapin last year and to end a two game skid to the Eagles. Kickoff for the game is Friday September the 4th at 7:30 in Cecil Woolbright Stadium.
