New Teacher Profile: Yarah Rose
Yarah Rose is a new teacher at Chapin High.
She is 46 years old and teaches Physical Science and Chemistry for all grade levels. Ms. Rose started teaching about a year ago. Here is a little more about her!
Q: What made you choose/decide to teach at Chapin?
A:I was teaching virtually and at the beginning of the school year switched my assignment so I learned a few weeks before school started that i wouldn’t be teaching where I’ve taught for 16 years, and that I’d be teaching here
Q: What college did you graduate from?
A: South Carolina State
Q: Did you always want to be a teacher or did something change when you were in college?
A: I wanted to be an oceanographer, but I changed my major to biology because Shamoo (the killer whale at SeaWorld) started eating people.
Q: What do you like so far about Chapin High?
A: I enjoy my kids, and I’m glad I moved here because it was definitely time for a change. I was at Irmo for 16 years, and I’m happy with the change. I like my coworkers because they are very supportive and very helpful. Everybody lifts everybody up, and I am encouraged by my coworkers to do my best.
