Potential Impact Players: Game 2- Mid Carolina

Chapin looks to senior leaders Bailey and Reinhart in a highly anticipated rivalry match-up.

Friday night, a night that brings one of the oldest rivalries in the state of South Carolina right here to Cecil Woolbright Stadium. Senior quarterback Logan Bailey is expected to make a huge impact offensively for the Eagles while senior linebacker Garrett Reinhart is expected to lead the defense.

Bailey already lead the offense to a 49 point victory over Columbia High last week, putting up five touchdowns and over 250 total yards in the team’s opener. The eagles’ offense is looking to have another big game against their rivals with Bailey leading the way.

When we asked the quarterbacks coach and Logan’s father, Coach John Bailey, what he thought about Logan’s demeanor for this game he responded by saying, “He’s probably a little more focused just because it is a rivalry”.

When we asked starting wide receiver, Evan Estridge, what he expected from his QB he said, “I think he will play really well. He always plays good.”

Expectations are high for this fast paced offensive, but they expect senior leader and quarterback to lead the way.

On the defensive side of the ball Garrett Reinhart is looking for another successful game after holding Columbia to a shutout last week. Against Columbia Reinhart racked up 12 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and a forced fumble. This week the Eagles’ defense is expecting much of the same from their captain.

Garrett’s brother Graham Reinhart had something to say when we asked about how he thinks his brother is preparing for the game mentally, stating that “He needs to take this week of practice seriously. He needs to go into the game with a mindset of wanting to win, understanding the rivalry, and just play his best.”

Chapin looks to senior leaders Bailey and Reinhart to have big games in what may very well be the most anticipated game of the season.
