Chapin Girls and Boys Top Region in Soccer

Chapin boys and girls soccer are region champions entering the playoffs. Both teams only lost one region game all season. They will be opening playoffs on May 2nd and 3rd.

Chapin girls finished the regular season with a 15-3 (7-1 in region) with only losing to Fort Dorchester, Dreher and Lexington. They also defeated in region rival Dreher 7 to 0 in their second meeting at home to earn the region championship. The ladies will play Greer at Chapin High School on May 2nd at 6:30.

“My expectations for the playoffs is that we go all the way and win a state championship. Our work ethic is non-stop in games and practices. We have our so much effort towards this and I think we deserve to win” said sophomore defender/forward, Salley Slice.

Chapin boys soccer are currently 17-3 (7-1 in region) with their loss coming to River Bluff twice and Dreher. They defeated Camden 7 to 0 at home to win the region title. Chapin will open the playoffs against Blue Ridge at Chapin High School at 6;30 pm on May 3rd.

“We have to win the majority of the fifty fifty balls and we need to score more set pieces that the other team scores on set pieces. If we do those two things we will win a state championships” said two year coach, Ben Bosco when asked what his team needed to do to achieve their state title goals.

Chapin soccer (girls and boys) both look to achieve their goals.
