Chapin Football week 5 preview

The Chapin Eagles are heading into week 5 following a rough 33-21 loss to Brookland-Cayce in week 4. The undefeated AC Flora Falcons are coming to Cecil Woolbright Stadium Friday night to face the Eagles. This game has been played in Chapin since 2018. AC Flora is coming off a hard-fought win against Camden to put them at 4-0 on the season, while the Eagles are 3-2.

Despite the loss, the Eagles offense still had some key contributors. Senior Wide Receiver Grady Brandstatter had 2 touchdowns, both thrown by sophomore quarterback Brady Albro. Senior running back Nolan Beerman also had a touchdown on the ground in Cayce.

Prior to the night, the Eagles defense had only given up 34 points the whole season. In this one game they gave up 33. Other than a fumble recovery from junior Beji Del Priore, it was a rough night for the Eagles defense, and they will be looking to rebound on Friday.

Putting the loss behind them, the Eagles look to defend their home turf once again. Chapin is 2-0 at home this season and will be looking to add another win to that record. The game will also be streamed on WACH Fox 57 as a part of “Sonic’s Friday Night Rivals.”
