Chapin at the Southern Slam Tournament

December 6th-7th The Chapin Eagles Varsity Wrestling team participated in the Southern Slam tournament, hosted by Eastside High School in Taylors SC. This invitational featured 48 of the best teams in the south.
Friday December 6th had two Championship rounds and two consolation rounds. The Eagles had seven wrestlers left; Will Anderson, Cyrus Rowe, Mitchell O’Conner, Porter Lesense, Josh Green, Shawn Haile, and Hunter Dixon.
Saturday December 7th featured six rounds of wrestling and Chapin had four wrestlers remaining after the rounds. Mitchell O’conner took 8th place, Hunter Dixon and Josh Green took 2nd place. In the championship finals,Shawn Haile won first place in the 182lb weight class.
