Fine Arts spring performances

Chapin’s Fine Arts department is ready for spring, with the drama department putting on the senior-directed one acts on April 26-27 and the chorus performing Honk! on March 21-22.

Honk! Is a musical loosely based on The Ugly Duckling. It went swimmingly, for photos of the performance, see the next page.

Three one acts will be performed: “Trifles”, “Imperfect Proposal”, and “Bank Robbery”. “Trifles” will be put on by the CHS Drama Club. “Imperfect Proposal” is directed by senior Shakevia Dewalt. “Bank Robbery” is directed by senior Kelly Jordan. “Imperfect Proposal” and “Bank Robbery” are comedies, while “Trifles” is more serious one act.

“Trifles” takes place at the turn of the century, and it’s a murder mystery. The police are investigating a murder that happened in an average household. The women in the kitchen see things that the men don’t see, but in 1900 women didn’t have that equal rights as men. Come watch to find out–who done it?

In “Imperfect Proposal”, Ben takes his girlfriend Kate to the park for a picnic and is planning on proposing to her. But when they get there, everything that could go wrong does.
“Bank Robbery” is a one act with a smaller cast. Four completely different bank employees are trapped in the bank vault while it is being robbed. Wackiness ensues.

Tickets for the productions will be available at the door, and concessions will be available.
