Chapin High Dances to State House
The Chapin Dance Team got rewarded for their national championship by getting a visit to the South Carolina State House on March 25th.
The state house wanted to acknowledge and reward the team for their hard work and success. Junior Dancer Abbie Derick said, “it was really good to be recognized by people in our state for how hard we have worked.”
The team got a tour of the state house including being able to see the balcony of the House of Representatives room and got recognized by Nathan Balentine.
The process never stops for the dance team. A banquet is upcoming followed by tryouts for next year. “I am really thankful to be a part of the team because it has created a second family,” said Derick. She hopes to do it again next year.
