Trader Joe’s  a grocery store known for their private brands and affordable prices, has officially confirmed their new location opening in Irmo, South Carolina.

For residents of Chapin,  this is an exceptional additive to the community. Originally, Forest Acres held the one of the only Trader Joe’s in South Carolina, making at least a 40 minute (one-way drive) exemplifying the need for more locations.  The store will be beside 2nd and Charles, on Harbison Boulevard,  making the new location a convenient stop for people out shopping.

Senior Katherine Geguzys said, “I’m really excited, but I’m not excited for all the traffic that is going to go with it.”

However there are many other grocery stores in the area, including: Publix, Walmart, and Kroger. Trader Joe’s will add to the competition with their store brand products and natural goods. The store appeals to younger people looking for a place to shop for groceries. The confirmed opening date is Friday December 12.
