Tennessee Blows Out Kentucky in Revenge Game

Brandon goes “Above the Rim” with Tennessee and Kentucky

On Saturday, March 2nd, the Kentucky Wildcats took a road trip to Thompson-Boling Arena.  This would be the second time that the Vols and the Wildcats have met.  The reason as to why this game is called a “revenge game” is because the last time these two teams met, it was in Kentucky’s stadium and the Tennessee Volunteers lost as they were ranked #1 and lost by a score of 86 to 69.  Tennessee has been dreaming of having a rematch game against Kentucky and on Saturday they got their chance.

On March 2nd the Volunteers were playing their home stadium of Thompson-Boling Arena with one of the biggest match-ups of their season in Kentucky.  Many people believed this game would be a “down to the wire” type of game but in a surprise start, the Tennessee Volunteers started off strong and never let up.

Jordan Bone and Grant Williams lead the way for the blowout against the #4 ranked Wildcats.  Bone had an efficient night shooting 11-15 on field goals and 5-5 from three ending the night with 27 points. Williams got to the line pretty regularly shooting 11 free throws and making 8 of them.  Williams ended the night with a helpful 24 points and 7 rebounds to help the Tennessee Vols blowout the Wildcats in a confident win of 19 points.

The “revenge game” was no doubt Tennessee’s game with four minutes left in the first half as Tennessee cruised past Kentucky to upset the rankings one more time.
