Chapin Beats Spring Valley Under the Lights
Friday, September 2nd marked the first home game of the year for the Chapin Eagles. The atmosphere was incredible as Chapin students, parents, and fans packed the stadium and filled the stands.
At the end of a very slow first half, Chapin was down 10-7. Despite this, the energy remained high. The Pep Gods’ (Michael Hoos and Thomas Holstein) lead cheers for the student section and made sure everybody participated and had a good time.
As the second half began, this energy proved to boost the Eagles as their offense exploded and went on a tear. The offensive excitement came courtesy of Jacob Nerone (who scored 2 touchdowns), and Nolan Beerman who ran for an 80 yard touchdown at the end of the game to put the nail in the coffin. Quarterback Brady Albro described the game as a “good team win” and hopes this will get the ball rolling for the Eagles.
Next Friday, Chapin will take on Newberry High School and try to improve their record to 2-1.
Danny Prebeck is currently a Senior at Chapin High school.
