Chapin High School now has an ultimate Frisbee team! Senior, Tyler Strenk, has spent the last couple of months organizing this team turning it from an idea to a reality. When asked about his reasoning for starting the team, Strenk said “I really loves the sport, and I figured that making it a school sport would be fun. I already knew some people who were interested, and also heard about other schools having these teams. Knowing this made me excited to get it started”. When asked about the best part of starting the team, Strenk said that ” it really is a lot of fun to play and is truly gratifying when you can accomplish a goal with a group of people. The people involved are great, and that makes it incredibly enjoyable”. The team practices Sundays and Wednesdays at parks around the Chapin area and have just begun scrimmaging against other schools in the area. Recently, the team received a sponsorship from Sonic. The money from this sponsorship will be put towards team uniforms, and equipment.
