Soup Station Stirring Sensation

Chapin High School introduced a new food in the cafeteria to bring in the new year.  A soup bar was set up and designed for students to make their own soup the way that they prefer.

Stephanie Hahn, a junior said, “The soup was good.  A bit cold, but other than that it was good.”

The soup bar has been a hit with students, teachers, and faculty. Officer Cato is very fond of the new addition as he believes that “the idea is ingenious, especially the fact that you can put your own ingredients in it.”

People can mix noodles, rice, vegetables, beans, or meat with a chili base, a cream base, or a broth base.  A school counseling assistant, Fran Tucker, really enjoys the soup, “It feels like you’re not in a cafeteria, more like a restaurant having the freedom to pick your own toppings. I thought the creamy chicken was very good and for three bucks it’s a great deal.”

Ever since the soup bar has been available at Chapin, the cafeteria seems to be much busier. This is a great, healthy, and tasty option for students and faculty to eat during lunch. Collin Harris, a senior, enjoys the soup station because, “there is a lot of different options and a good variety of meat and vegetables.”
