Chapin Cares: The Encouragement Project
Earlier this week, Junior Drew Green took it upon herself to make the environment at Chapin High School just a little more friendly. She went out of her way to make a poster titled “Chapin Cares” that holds post-it notes full of positive affirmations. This poster is now hanging up in the school. Kids are encouraged to grab one during class change or Power Hour and replace it with a new message.
Most of the notes are full of motivational statements like “Every day may not be a good day, but there is something good in every day!” or ” Every moment is a fresh beginning.”
Drew’s main inspiration for doing this came from Dr Ross, along with Ms. Carter, Ms. Huckabee and Ms. Adams.
“The project is meant to give encouragements and confidence to those who are being bullied, struggling, or having a bad day,” said Drew. “To remind others what people go through on a daily basis and to let them know that they’re not alone.. someone cares about them” Drew said.
This project was a great way for Drew to contribute to the positivity here at Chapin High School and hopefully more students will be inspired by her work to be more kind to others.
