Athletes Put Their Name on the Line

Today, February 7th, is National Signing day. Senior players will officially commit to the college that they are attending to play a sport in their freshman year. The signings started at 10:50 a.m. in the Arena Lobby at Chapin High School.

Sailor Chason will be committing to Johnson and Wales University and said, “I am excited to be living in Charlotte, there’s a lot of opportunity there and I’m looking forward to the next four years of playing soccer.”

 

Another soon to be college athlete, Jack Humphries is committing to Lander University along with his twin brother, Jon Humphries. Katie Arthur is also committing to Lander University to play women’s soccer, she is excited to sign because, “It represents all my hard work, and means no turning back.”

 

 

Salley Slice is also committing to play soccer in the fall to continue her career at Newberry College and “(I am)  excited to sign the paper and officially commit herself to the sport and her new team.”

 

The commits also include Amanda Esposito for Winthrop University (soccer), Anna Remensnyder for Georgia State (soccer), Isabel Zarzueala for The Citadel (soccer), Charles Anderson for North Greenville University (soccer), Josh Corning for the University of South Carolina (soccer), Collin Harris for Georgia Southern (soccer), Justin White for The University of South Carolina Union (soccer), and Xzavion Gordon for South Carolina State (football).
