W82 Txt Pledge

Subway restaurants are calling on local high school students to sign a pledge that says they won’t text while driving. There are enough distractions while you’re driving already. Between your coffee and the GPS, now you have texting. Subway is holding a pledge so that not just teens but adults also will put the phone away in order to stop texting and driving.
“I really do not see the point in texting and driving. No one is so important that I would have to die in order to reply to their drama. If it is that important to be texting and driving, pull over and call them. Your life over a text is more important.” Junior Kelsey Jones said.
Many students are really upset though that there is going to be an upcoming new law added to South Carolinas driving policy, No phones at all while behind the wheel.
“It adds unnecessary risks to driving especially since high school students are already bad drivers” Said Senior Mitchell Cornett.
The key club has decided to take on this pledge and get it known to Chapin High School and make it a trend to not text and drive. Ericka McVey the president of the key club is not only supporting the movement but is also a contributor in this.
